Virgin Hotels has an opening date, and a possible plan for frequent flyers

Virgin Hotels is slated to open its first property in Chicago in January 2015.

· The Chambers: The guest rooms are called Chambers and they will actually have a set of sliding doors in them so that one guest can go to sleep while the other guest gets ready or just hangs out. Hence the “Our rooms have two peepholes” tagline on the Chambers page.

American to begin non-stop Atlanta-Los Angeles flights

American Airlines announced that it will start offering service between Atlanta and Los Angeles beginning on March 5, 2015.

Flights from Atlanta will depart at 7:00 a.m., 12:50 p.m., and 6:55 p.m., arriving in Los Angeles at 8:40 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 8:35 p.m., respectively. From Los Angeles, flights are scheduled to depart at 12:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 3:20 p.m., and will arrive in Atlanta at 7:40 a.m., 5:55 p.m., and 10:45 p.m.

Google hires camel for desert Street View

Google has hired a camel for its street view of the desert.

The beast has become the first animal to carry Google’s Trekker camera, which is typically hoisted by humans to capture 360-degree images of destinations inaccessible to its Street View cars.

Google spokeswoman Monica Baz says the camel, reportedly named Raffia, was an apt way of documenting the beautiful shifting sands of Abu Dhabi’s Liwa Oasis.
