Caminito Del Rey, world’s most dangerous walkway, reopens; this time it’s safe
For decades, the Caminito Del Rey in the rugged mountains north of Malaga in Spain, has been considered the most dangerous walkway in the world. The crumbling path was fraught with sheer drops into deep gorges, deteriorated walkways, and uncertain safety cables. As a safety measure, it was closed to legitimate tourists (of course, daredevils still tested their mettle). The pathway opened again yesterday. This time it can be appreciated for its beauty and not its danger.

It’s a famously treacherous path, built high above the Gualdalhorce River. King Alfonso XIII opened the walkway in 1921, and it earned a name that means “King’s Little Path.” But after a few people died on the pathway in the 1990s and 2000s, Caminito del Rey earned a deadly reputation and became a hot spot for risk-takers.

Chicago’s great museums
I remember going to the Museum of Science and Industry when I was a teenager back in 1974. It was fascinating back then. Now, it is supposed to be a quantum leap better. Plus, for art there it is difficult to find a museum as compelling as the Art Institute.
